Attire for Events

Crown and Collar Society Image

Crown and Collar events are

exclusive, dignified and elegant.

Our events are attended by individuals who respect and embrace these values. As a general rule, the host/hostess of each individual event sets the dress code. The general rules of etiquette for these dress codes are outlined below. Please direct specific questions to curator@crownandcollarsociety.com.

Crown & Collar embraces a creative level of diversity that breaks free of traditional gender roles while maintaining the traditional spirit of the strict formality of the event. Please embrace attire that is comfortable to your sexual orientation and identity.

Upscale Casual

Our most relaxed dress code — refined, stylish, and never dressed down.

This is a semi-formal look that blends elegance with comfort. Think upscale pieces paired with more relaxed elements.

Examples include:

  • Cocktail or little black dresses

  • Slacks with dressy tops or blazers

  • Suits (ties optional)

  • Men are expected to wear jackets

You’re encouraged to express your personal style and dress as elegantly as you desire. Just remember: elevated always, never underdressed.

Fetish-Inspired Equivalents:

Creative reinterpretations of the above are welcomed — such as leather, latex, rubber, fur wraps, corsets, or distinctive accessories (especially popular with Dominatrices and BDSM socialites). These pieces should carry the same polish and intention as traditional attire.

Please Note:

  • High-end T-shirts are only acceptable with a jacket

  • Jeans, shorts, athletic shoes, and flip-flops are not permitted

  • Flip-flops are never considered upscale for any gender

Black Tie or Formal Fetish

Our most formal dress code — a celebration of refinement, elegance, and reverence for the occasion.

Black Tie is reserved for our most ceremonious evenings. Choosing to dress in formal evening wear is both a nod of respect to the host and an embodied recognition of the space you're entering.

Traditional attire includes:

  • A tuxedo with dinner jacket, matching trousers, waist covering, and black tie

  • Full-length evening gowns

  • Formal footwear

Modern & Fetish-Forward Interpretations:
We welcome elegant formal fetishwear that maintains the same level of intention and polish — think high-gloss latex, tailored leather, corsetry, and refined accessories. Gowns, suits, or dress pieces in non-traditional fabrics (like rubber, vinyl, or silk) are embraced when executed with care and taste.

Honoring Heritage:
Members who have earned medals, honors, or insignia may wear them with pride and proper placement on formalwear. A helpful guide for presentation can be found here.
